Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. "FROM NO NAME TO FAME!" You may have seen the story of 30 pets rescued from a Bedford home last week on WMUR, and also here on Bedford Patch. Fifteen of the pets (13 dogs and 2 love birds) were taken in and received much-needed medical care by our friends at the Animal Rescue League of NH. The ARLNH is asking for help to name the "Bedford Bunch" and for donations to help care for its 15 new residents. See the pets and submit your idea for names here: (Animal Rescue League of NH via Facebook)
  2. The Bedford Public Library will be closed Labor Day weekend. For the Labor Day holiday, the Library will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but even if the building is closed, online access is available to request materials, do online research and stream music and videos. (Bedford (NH) Public Library via Facebook)
  3. In casino-related news, former state senator Andy Sanborn, who lives in Bedford, is the subject of inquiries by state and federal authorities, according to Attorney General John M. Formella. The controversy is over a $844K COVID-19 relief loan he received without references to the casino he owns on the paperwork. Formella said. The Concord Monitor reported casinos were not eligible for the relief loan program. (Casino.Org News)
