Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- Eligible residents who installed a point-of-entry treatment (POET) system for a PFAS contaminated drinking well can a one-time rebate of up to $5,000, the company said in a news release. Applicants approved for the rebate will also be eligible to be included in its future POET maintenance program. (Bedford Patch)
- Rand Pecknold of Bedford will be awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award at the 2023 USA Hockey's Annual Meeting. Award-winners will be honored during USA Hockey's Annual meeting from June 7-10 in Denver. USA Hockey's national governing body meets at the Annual Meeting to "conduct the business of the national governing body and celebrate accomplishment." Congratulations! (USA Hockey)
- For National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) week, the Bedford Fire Department is celebrating Bedford Emergency Medical Service providers. In a social media post, the BFD said, "Integrity — Is what you do when no one is watching." They added, "The community doesn’t see you attend off-duty classes and training, they don’t see you scrubbing the back of the ambulance..." or the long hours and many other heroic things EMS providers do every day.
