  1. The New Hampshire Marijuana Legalization Commission held its first meeting Friday to consider selling marijuana in New Hampshire through "a system of state-run stores." The commission is tasked with preparing legislation after the governor signed a bill following a bipartisan agreement. Those who support legalizing marijuana want to study what other states have done, while others, including Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski who represents the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police (NHACOP), oppose the reform altogether. (Marijuana Moment)
  2. Several Bedford residents lost power from falling trees and downed power lines after strong thunderstorms moved through Bedford late Friday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a storm warning at 6:30 p.m. for severe storms, lightning, wind gusts up to 60 mph and torrential downpours. Several residents in Bedford were without power Friday, and almost 700 homes in Nashua lost power, Eversource reported. Strong storms are expected again on Saturday afternoon and Sunday as the humid weather continues. (WMUR)
  3. A shoutout to SilverTech as the "Top Dog Sponsor" for the Howl-O-Ween 5K Run/Walk. The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire thanked SilverTech for being the "highest possible sponsor" and "sends a BIG thank you to SilverTech and all of our race sponsors." Join in the fun at The Howl-O-Ween 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 21 to support the shelter. Find out more and sign up here: (Animal Rescue League of NH via Facebook)
