- Santa Claus is coming to town! Get a picture with Santa at the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. (But don't be late!) Santa and Mrs. Claus will be leaving promptly at 6 p.m. "Cozy up to the fire" and bring an ornament if you'd like to join in the tree lighting. You can also bring a new, unwrapped present to support the Bedford Police Department's Toys for Tots toy drive. The event will also have food trucks and face painting. Don't forget to "visit the farms' animal friends." (Bedford Patch)
- A Winter Storm Watch issued by the National Weather Service for our area ends Saturday at 10 a.m. Expect 1 to 2 inches of snow early Saturday morning, then it will be cloudy with a high of 42. Sunday will be breezy with clouds and sun, with a high of 39. Get ready! Another major storm may be heading our way later next week with "bitterly cold" temperatures.
