Here are the top stories in Bedford today:
- Expect delays on the FE Everett Turnpike in Bedford for line painting Sunday night, Aug. 13 -Monday night Aug. 14 in the southbound lanes at the I-293 Interchange. Lines will be painted on the road between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. closing lanes of traffic and the westbound exit onto Route 101. - Business owner Ed Baroody donated $125,000 to Trinity High School. The owner of the Zoo Manchester fitness center and finance chair for St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Bedford presented the generous donation last week at the sold-out 31st Annual Trinity High School Golf Tournament fundraiser at the Derryfield County Club in Manchester. "'I’m honored to be here today – even though I’m a Central graduate,' Baroody said with a wide grin." (Manchester Ink Link)
- A young lady running with her mom watched for traffic and used the crosswalk, earning her an unexpected Scoop for Safety. Officer Proulx noticed the girl and her mom practicing safe pedestrian behavior and handed out a card for "a free ice cream from our friends at The Inside Scoop." Bedford officers are on the lookout for kids practicing safety this summer, "like wearing their helmets while biking, using the crosswalks, or demonstrating safe pedestrian behavior on the roads." Be safe, Bedford! (Bedford Police via Facebook)
