Police Charge Woman With Negligent Homicide, Manslaughter After Crash

Ailadi Abreu was accused of driving her Acura into a BMW head-on on Granite Street in Manchester. Michael Shattuck, her fiancée, was killed.

MANCHESTER, NH — Ailadi Abreu, 35, has been charged with negligent homicide and manslaughter in connection to a fatal accident on Granite Street in Manchester.

Manchester police responded to the area of Granite Street and Interstate 293 for a report of a motor vehicle crash on March 23.

When officers arrived, they found bystanders doing CPR on Michael Shattuck, 32, of Manchester who was a passenger in Abreu’s 2012 Acura TL. Despite medical attention, Shattuck died at the scene.

Abreu was heavily entrapped in the driver’s side compartment and Manchester Firefighters worked to extricate her while AMR medics provided medical care. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.

Abreu's car struck a 2019 BMW X7 driven by a 64-year-old woman. The woman was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treated for minor injuries.

Police said Abreu came off the I-293 north offramp at a high rate of speed and attempted to make a left turn. She lost control of the Acura and struck the BMW head-on, police said.

Abreu was charged with manslaughter, negligent homicide, and two counts of reckless conduct. She was booked in absentia as she is still in the hospital, police said.

The two were engaged according to Shattuck's and Abreu's FaceBook page and Shattuck's obituary.

Abreu was arraigned via video Friday. No booking photo was released at this time.
