Health of Assault Victim 'Improving'
Bedford Police Chief reveals additional information about the night of the assault, remains mum on investigation details.
Prior to tonight's community meeting at Bedford High School, investigators had released few details in the violent attack at 7 Proclamation Court that left Dr. Eduardo and Sonia Quesada hospitalized with serious injuries.
Tonight, Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski revealed that the suspect in the crime, in addition to being described as a roughly 6-foot tall male who was wearing a black mask and dark coat at the time of the attack, is believed to be dark skinned as well.
He explained that information is based on interviews with both victims in the attack.

"The description, with respect to the individual that we're seeking, has been provided by both of the victims," said Bryfonski, who noted that Eduardo Quesada's health has improved and that investigators have communicated with him. "I cant comment on the doctor's medical condition other than to say it's improving. What condition he is ... that would have to be assessed and released by the medical practitioners involved."
In addition, Bryfonski told residents that there is a "veritable mountain of evidence" indicating that the Quesada's were confronted by a third-party suspect when they entered their home around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24.

"The doctor and the wife entered the home and were confronted by the assailant, and that is all I am prepared to say," said Bryfonski.
He also said that it has not yet been determined if the crime was random or if the Quesada's were a specific target in the attack.
And while many residents expressed gratefulness for the professionalism and hard work of Bedford Police, several of the meeting's attendees also vented frustration about the lack of details being released.
Though Bryfonski said he was sympathetic to residents' quest for information, especially those seeking an additional level of comfort and security, he steadfastly refused to speak on anything that could adversely impact the investigation.
He did, however, say that he is extremely confident that the investigation is progressing and that the perpetrator will be identified, arrested and prosecuted.
"You aren't going to find any better investigative minds out there than these gentlemen and the ladies that are working on this case," he told dozens of residents during last night's community meeting at Bedford High School. "They are going to solve this thing. Trust me when I tell you, we will bring this person to justice. We're going to find him. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, it may not be next week, but we're going to find him."
