- Discover a quick read for the holidays: Are you looking for a book to get in the holiday spirit? If you don't have a lot of time to read as you are getting ready for visitors, decorating, or cooking your favorite holiday foods, you may find just the right holiday book in the collection of short story books under 250 pages at The Bedford Public Library. - A new grant has been awarded to extend the Merrimack River Greenway Trail in Concord, another 12.7 miles, and Bedford civil engineering company, VHB, is helping with permitting and design for the new greenway. The new trail will run from Pembroke to Boscawen and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2023, thanks to the funding. The $275,000 grant is part of a program administered by the National Park Service. According to a press release, Concord has to provide matching funds for the grant. Ae non-profit, Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, will help the raise money and with the permitting and design process along with Bedford civil engineering company VHB.
