Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. Congratulations Denise Ricciardi! State Senator Denise Ricciardi of Bedford recently received the Spirit of New Hampshire Volunteer Service Award for her charitable work. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Ricciardi founded Bedford Cares, a Facebook-only group connecting local volunteers with people in need in her community. Bedford Cares has had an impact and has grown to more than 100 volunteers. Ricciardi does everything from answering the hotline to taking donations and coordinating food distribution. Volunteer NH has hosted the Spirit of New Hampshire Awards to celebrate volunteerism every year since 2003. (Facebook)
  2. Help keep Bedford beautiful! If you love nature, the Town of Bedford is looking for new volunteer members for the Conservation Commission. According to the Town of Bedford website, the mission of the Conservation Commission is to "protect, preserve, and conserve the town's natural resources and open space for the common good." The Commission also helps protect wetlands, acquires new land for conservation, and oversees Bedford's hiking trails. We especially like the Commission's motto: "Keeping Bedford Beautiful." You can find out more here: (Press Release Desk)
  3. A shoutout to Mike Robinson of Bedford. His confidence and skill as a UNH goaltender earned him back-to-back Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honors. The UNH senior helped bring the Wildcats three consecutive wins as they enter this weekend’s Hockey East home-and-home series with Boston University. You won't want to miss the games this weekend. This is the final series before the holiday break. The Wildcats will play Boston University on Friday, Dec. 3 at the Agganis Arena at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday's game will be at the Whittemore Center in Durham at 7 p.m. You can also see the games on College SportsLive.
