Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. Bellwether Community Credit Union is offering online digital gift cards through a partnership with ad-tech company Prizeout. Members can buy digital gift cards online through their online Bellwether Community Credit Union account. Bellwether Community Credit Union has a location in Bedford next to the Copper Door restaurant. (InvestorsObserver)
  2. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is offering a $5K rebate for eligible homeowners who installed a point-of-entry treatment (POET) water treatment system for PFAS contamination from the industrial manufacturer. The rebate, announced on Monday, will compensate owners who installed a POET system "prior to being offered a system as part of Saint-Gobain’s POET installation program." Find out more and apply for the rebate here: (Bedford Patch)
  3. A vehicle careened off of the Wieczorek Parkway on-ramp to the F.E. Everett Turnpike on Sunday traveling down an embankment into brush. The incident happened after the car traveled around a sharp curve hitting the left guard rail, then traveled across the ramp and down the right embankment. Bedford firefighters and New Hampshire State Police helped remove the woman from her car and said she did not want medical treatment. (Bedford Patch via Jeffrey Hastings)
  4. The New Hampshire Zoning Atlas describes where and what developers can build in communities. It's a powerful tool Granite Staters have to understanding local zoning ordinances in neighboring towns—that can have huge discrepancies in the types of housing they allow. For example, Bedford, Merrimack, or New Boston do not have a minimum lot size of five acres or more to build, but other communities have lot size restrictions. The NH Zoning Atlas is "policy neutral" (it’s just a collection of data) but can lead to policy changes and help "guide planning for future development in their communities." (New Hampshire Journal)
