Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- If its green, stay out of the water! A cyanobacteria advisory was issued for Sebbins Pond on July 20. If you see bright green flecks swirling on the water and gathering on the shorelines, stay out of the water and keep your pets out of the water, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Service warned. Cyanobacteria blooms are toxic. If you see anything that looks like a green bacteria bloom "contact NHDES immediately." The warning will remain in place until NHDES confirms that bloom concentrations have subsided to safe levels. See NHDES warnings for the New Hampshire lakes, ponds, streams and beaches here: (NHDES)
- Grant Lavigne of Bedford hit "the go-head home run" for The Hartford Yard Goats for the win Friday in Manchester against The Fisher Cats at Delta Dental Stadium Sunday. The next game for the Yard Goats will be against the Reading Fightin' Phils at Dunkin' Park in Hartford, Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Listen to the game on AM 1410, FM 100.9 and on the iHeart radio app. (OurSports Central)
