- U.S. Senator Jean Shaheen visited Bedford High School on Monday to discuss “the ongoing youth mental health crisis." Senator Shaheen met with students and staff at Bedford High School to find out what can be done and listened to their personal stories and concerns. The Senator was inspired by the students' dedication "to breaking down stigmas and supporting each other as they work through mental health challenges. " She will "continue to push for federal investments” in programs that support mental health. (InDepthNH.org)
- If you watched the Westminster Dog Show, you may have seen Amber McCune of Bedford and her border collies Kaboom and Howie racing through the Agility competition. Kaboom won the 24-inch class Agility championship last year, "and it wasn’t his first time." On the last trip to Westminster, "another of McCune’s border collies, Howie — Kaboom’s sibling — took that prize with a run time of 32.34 seconds.” (Subscription/The Union Leader)
- Rebecca Brown, senior project manager at Bedford engineering and design firm GPI/Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. stocked up on mini-marshmallows for last week’s two-day "New Futures for Females" career expo. The girls used mini marshmallows and toothpicks “to build their own bridges” at the student-led career fair.
