  1. It's Taylor Swift Adoption Promotion weekend at the Animal Rescue League of NH and shelter pets "are wondering if you are 'Ready for it?'" The staff at the ARLNH have been talking about this weekend for months, "and the animals keep wondering 'Who is Taylor Swift?'" Several Animal Rescue League staff members "won 'The Great War' with Ticketmaster" and will be attending the show at Gillette Stadium. The Taylor Siwft Promotion is to help 77 shelter animals at the ARLNH "waiting for their next 'Love Story' to Begin Again." Mention Taylor Swift this weekend and your pet adoption will only be$13! 2. A worker cutting tree branches at a home near Meetinghouse Road was electrocuted Friday when it is thought that the lift came in contact with the live power lines. A statement from a Bedford police spokesperson said a tree trimmer working for Accurate Tree Service was electrocuted "trimming branches around electrical lines." OSHA is investigating and Eversource workers were seen placing insulators on power lines where the incident happened. Be safe, everyone. (Bedford Patch via Jeffrey Hastings)
  3. Half Moon Blooms Flower Farm is excited to have a "new employee"—a colony of bees eager to pollinate its flowers. The bee colony is through a partnership with the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill. The bees are pollinating flowers and helping "educate the public on pollinators (and how important they are!), how they work, and what steps we can take as individuals and as communities to help support pollinators thru sustainable practices!" (Half Moon Blooms via Facebook)
  4. See Maine mystery author Paul Doiron at the Bedford Public Library on Sunday, May 21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the McAllaster Room. Mr. Doiron will read from his crime novels featuring Maine game warden Mike Bowditch.
