Here are the top stories today in Bedford:
- The driver who crashed into a Bedford cruiser parked on the side of the road was cited for Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Chief John J. Bryfonski said in a recent release. The head-on crash happened early Monday, Sept. 11 at 1:30 a.m. when the driver of a 2012 Ford Focus traveling west on Route 101 fell asleep at the wheel, crossing several lanes and crashing into the cruiser parked on the eastbound side of the road. The officer, who was conducting stationary radar on Route 101 near Covenant Way, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be serious. The 23-year-old male driver was uninjured and did not go to the hospital. (Bedford Police Department)
