- Drivers on the F.E. Everett Turnpike will no longer have a toll booth operator to greet them with a smile, make change, or offer driving directions at the toll booth in Bedford. Two Republican executive councilors had misgivings about the 3-2 vote on a $1.8 million contract to create :electronic-only (E-ZPass) collections" at the Bedford toll. Toll plazas in Hooksett on Interstate 93 and in Hampton on Interstate 95 "always have at least one lane with an attendant who accepts cash." Councilor Dave Wheeler, R-Milford said, "I think this makes us more like Massachusetts. I think it’s good for the department, and to hell with the consumer." (Subscription/The Union Leader)
- Bedford Community Television Channel 23 is moving in August. Bedford and BCTV was informed that Comcast Xfinity is moving Channel 23, the school and education channel, to Channel 8 effective Aug. 1. (Bedford (NH) Community Television via Facebook)
- The Bedford Police Department welcomed Officer Adam Bissonnette to the police department this week. Bissonnette came to Bedford from another department in New Hampshire where he was a field training officer. Before becoming a law enforcement officer he served as a first lieutenant in the Army.
