Here are the top stories in Bedford today:

  1. It's the season for everything pumpkin, including pumpkin spice lattes—but that's not real pumpkin. The spice flavor in your favorite coffee cafe Pumpkin Spice Latte is likely a combination of flavored syrup and spices. For a more authentic pumpkin experience, you can make a natural pumpkin spice blend at home to add to all of your hot beverages using cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. And if you buy a sugar pumpkin at your market or local Bedford, New Hampshire farm stand (sugar pumpkins or milk-fed pumpkins are better for cooking than carving), you can make everything from creamy homemade pumpkin butter to baked pumpkin fries, pumpkin beer bread, and pumpkin fondue. You can find out more here: (WMUR)
  2. Congratulations Bob Rohrer and Doug Martin, of Colliers Real Estate in Bedford who brokered a deal for the former Segway headquarters in Bedford, New Hampshire. The 88,000 sq. ft. building is on 18 acres of land located on Technology Drive in Bedford. The new owner is LSNE, a clinical and commercial pharmaceutical company. The company's Bedford location will create opportunities to expand and bring new jobs to the area. (New England Real Estate Journal Online)
  3. This is the month to read engaging nonfiction and fiction stories about the Native American experience. It's Native American Heritage Month, and The Bedford Public Library is offering nonfiction books that explore Indigenous history and culture, as well as outstanding fiction and poetry by Native authors. Visit the Bedford Public Library's online book carousel to find a book with a story can't wait to read, and reserve your copy online. (Press Release Desk)
