'Super Guppy,' a Santa Stampede and Snow?

Here are five things you should know in Bedford today.

1. Special delivery. Thanks to local freelance photographer Jeffrey Hastings for the above photos and information regarding NASA's Super Guppy aircraft while it made a special stop at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. The Super Guppy, the only one in the Unite States Arrived Tuesday evening, and was loaded Thursday morning with a heat shield built by Textron in Wilmington, Mass. The 40,000-pound heat shield was loaded in to the aircraft destined for Kennedy Space center where it will be used on the Orion Space craft scheduled to launch next month. The plane was loaded and serviced at Wiggins Airway. Additional information available at www.nasa.gov/orion.

2. There's still time to join the Santa stampede! Millennium Running's annual Santa Claus Shuffle is set for 3:15 p.m. Saturday in Manchester. Join roughly 4,000 others who will all be dressed up like Santa Clause for this unique event. Online registration is closed, but you can sign up today at Toys R' Us in Manchester or Saturday in the Manchester Radisson ballroom.Find additional details here.

3. Snow tonight? Today's forecast calls for a high temperature of 45 degrees with a 70-percent chance of rain The overnight low is 31 degrees with an 80-percent chance of rain and snow.

4. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever? The Bedford Youth Performance Company(BYPC) invites you to get in the holiday spirit with this children's production based on the book by Barbara Robinson. The show takes place at The Derryfield School in Manchester on Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7 at 1 p.m.
