The Inside Scoop is Looking for Help!

1. Here's the scoop ... The Inside Scoop, Bedford's favorite (well ... only) ice cream shop, is hiring and considering both full-time and part-time help. Positions are year-round, not seasonal. Apply in person at 260 Wallace Road, near the intersection with Route 101.

2. Joppa Hill Road closure. Yesterday, a partial road closure began on Joppa Hill Road that extends through around noon today. For more details, click here.

4. Weekend forecast. It looks like Labor Day weekend is going to be a mixed bag of weather. Chance of storms all weekend, mixed with clouds, fog and maybe some sun.

• Friday: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. 
• Friday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. 
• Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. 
• Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. 
• Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 83.

5. Prepay for vaca. It's now possible for motorists who are not E-ZPass customers and do not have transponders to utilize the benefits of E-ZPass on the New Hampshire Turnpike System. The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces a new E-ZPass account option that allows travelers to “Prepay a NH Trip” and use dedicated E-ZPass lanes and Open Road Tolling (ORT) lanes.  Under this option, payments are made in advance of a trip on New Hampshire turnpikes by establishing a prepaid account and registering a license plate.  Images of the license plate traveling through the dedicated E-ZPass lane or ORT lane will be matched to the account and the toll will be automatically deducted from the prepaid account balance. Rules for this E-ZPass option include:

• Prepaid trips are not discounted.  Tolls will be charged at the full fare.
• An account must be opened with a minimum balance of $1.00.
• Multiple vehicles may be registered on an account.
• There is no limit to the number of trips that can be prepaid.
• Accounts can be automatically replenished by credit card.
