• Sophomore stars O'Connell, O'Rourke shining for Bedford boys basketball team (unionleader.com) — Bedford High School’s boys basketball team is off to a 3-0 start, led by standout sophomores Luke O’Connell and Ryan O’Rourke, who powered a 57-51 win over Bishop Guertin. The longtime teammates combined inside-out scoring, rebounding, and defense to help the defending Division I champs head into the holiday break with momentum and a spot in the upcoming Queen City Invitational.
   

• Feds given extension to respond to Manchester wastewater permit appeal (unionleader.com) — Wastewater from Bedford and other nearby communities ultimately flows to Manchester’s treatment plant, which is at the center of a legal fight over PFAS discharges into the Merrimack River. An advocacy group is appealing the plant’s federal permit, and regulators just received extra time, until Jan. 30, 2026, to respond—potentially affecting how regional wastewater, including Bedford’s, is regulated.
