As news trucks and reporters from Boston-area media began to arrived in town, searching for answers, Bedford Police and NH State Troops called in the DEA and FBI to help with the investigation.
Still, many residents expressed concern following the violent attack, especially because it has not yet been determined if the crime was random or targeted.
Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski, at a press conference and then at a community meeting, provided a description of the suspect and encouraged the utilization of proper security measures, but also steadfastly assuered residents that Bedford is one of the safest communities in the country to live.
As of Friday, Bryfonski said the investigation is still very active.
"Bedford PD and New Hampshire State Police detectives continue to actively pursue many investigative avenues, leads and sort through the evidence obtained thus far," said Bryfonski, "but we have no information to report."
