Vehicle Crashes Into Guardrail And Careens Down Embankment In Bedford

NH State Police, Bedford firefighters assisted a woman from her vehicle on the Wieczorek Parkway ramp to the F.E. Everett Turnpike Sunday.

BEDFORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police responded to the Raymond Wieczorek Parkway for a vehicle off the road with the driver still in the vehicle Sunday.

State police located the vehicle down an embankment at the on-ramp to the Everett Turnpike south in Bedford. When troopers contacted the driver, a request was made for Bedford Fire Rescue to respond to check on the woman.

The accident occurred in a sharp curve, and the vehicle struck the guardrail on the left side of the ramp and careened down the embankment on the right side of the on-ramp.

Bedford medics evaluated the woman, and she refused medical transport and was assisted to the vehicle of a person who arrived to pick her up.

Bedford Fire assisted in blocking the roadway and picked up debris from the roadway to prevent issues with other vehicles.

A local tow company removed the vehicle about 100 feet off the ramp.

The ramp remained open while responders worked at the scene for about 1 hour.
