- Peak foliage late this year: If you drive along Meetinghouse Road in Bedford, or other places in our area, bursts of red and orange color are just starting to appear. According to the AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster, Paul Pastelok said foliage is later this year because autumn is much different from last year, when dry conditions created stress on trees causing them to drop their leaves early. High amounts of rain over the summer and mild temperatures caused peak colors to be pushed further into October than typical years, Pastelok said. He also noted that this year, because if the weather pattern, we can expect impressive colors. You can find out more here: (Seacoast Online).
