Matt Marychuk, an eyewitness to the accident, contacted Bedford Patch last night and provided addition details.

"I was a witness and nearly a victim of tonight's crash in the parking lot of Shorty's in Bedford," said Marychuk. "A woman that appeared to be in her fifties to sixties was looking for a place to park in Shorty's parking lot. When she couldn't find a parking spot, she accelerated at a high rate of speed in reverse."

Marychuk, who was leaving the restaurant with family members and carrying a 7-year old, said he and several others had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.

"I was forced to jump onto the hood of a parked car to avoid being hit by the woman's Jeep," he said. "After the speeding vehicle passed my family, it crashed into a parked compact car. It then forced that parked car into two men who were standing next to their cars talking. One of the men was knocked to the side into the grass. The other was pinned in between that parked car and a parked pickup truck. The force of the woman's Jeep was strong enough to move the parked compact car about a good 10 feet into the two men, then moved the parked pickup about five feet."

While several of those who witnessed the accident immediately called 911, others sprang into action.

"My family members broke the glass of the parked compact car in an attempt to move it off the pinned man," said Marychuk. "That attempt was unsuccessful. The man was pinned for about 15 minutes before emergency crews were finally able to free him."

No additional details were available from Bedford Police as of this morning, but Patch will continue to follow this story and provided updates if and when they come available.
