Here are the top stories today in Bedford:

  1. Women with links to New Hampshire, whose husbands were killed in the September 11 attacks, say they still feel grief. Cindy Comer of Bedford didn't realize her husband was going to be in the World Trade Center that day, and Judy Keane said her husband didn't normally work in that building while in New York, but was there for a special meeting. After a certain length of time you think you can get over it, Comer said, but you just can't. (WMUR Manchester)
  2. WMUR honors the victims of the September 11 attacks who have New Hampshire ties, including Kathy Bantis, of Manchester. (WMUR Manchester)
  3. Rockingham County Superior Court Judge Marguerite Wagelin, who presided over hearings for two separate almost identical lawsuits over mask mandates for schools on Friday, said that the only way legal battles over mask mandates will likely be settled is if the state Supreme Court weighs in. Bedford attorney Robert Fojo filed one of the lawsuits on behalf of parents who argued that it’s illegal for schools to require students to wear masks during COVID-19. Two Hillsborough County judges have dismissed cases against the Bedford School District and the Hollis-Brookline School District. (The Union Leader)
  4. The annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival returns this weekend, Sept. 10-12, after it was canceled last year for the first time in its 32-year history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. John Nyhan, president of the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the annual festival said, "We are just excited to be able to have the Seafood Festival this year." (Seacoast Online)
