Your Chance to Hear the State of the Bedford School District

Here are seven things you should know today in Bedford.

1. State of the District. On Friday, Nov. 8, Bedford Superintendent Timothy Mayes will offer a "State of the District" update from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the BCTV Studio at 10 Meetinghouse Road. The Bedford Parent Teacher Group organized the information session, which will focus on what's happening district wide in the Bedford schools including district results, budget updates, hot topics and your questions will be discussed during this information session with our Superintendent of Schools. Coffee and light refreshments will be served, and young children are welcome. 2. The weatherman says ... Temperatures remain in the low 50s, though the rain moves out and is replaced by partly cloudy skies. The forecasted high today is 53 degrees with an overnight low of 37 degrees and a 0-percent chance of precipitation throughout the day and evening.

3. "Not So Scary Halloween" event to benefit "Our Promise to Nicholas.
" The charitable event, being held from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, at the at NH Sportsplex, will feature bounce houses, movie showings, balloon creations, laser tag, pizza, beverages, a DJ, face painting and many more fun activities. 4. The next day ... 
enjoy a"Halloween Spook-tacular,", at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Bedford Village Common Park (Town Hall if raining). The event, open to children 8 and under, features fun Halloween activities such as a flashlight candy hunt in the park. Children are encouraged to arrive dressed in costume and to bring their own flashlights. Refreshments will also be served and Judy Pancoast will provide spooky entertainment with a free children's concert. Those who attend are encouraged to bring one bag of wrapped candy to donate to the candy hunt.

5. And don't forget ... Ross A. Lurgio School's 4th-annual Witch Way to the 5K and KidsK to be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. It's not too late to sign up! Get full details here.
