The single most important pressing issue facing the community is _______ and this is what I intend to do about it

As a parent, educator, and lifelong advocate for student success, I believe that every child deserves access to high-quality education, safe learning environments, and teachers who have the resources they need to help students thrive. I intend to work collaboratively with families, educators, and community leaders to promote transparency in decision-making, prioritize student well-being, and ensure that our schools continue to be a source of pride and opportunity for the entire community.

List three other things you would like to work on if elected or re-elected

Three other things I would like to work on if elected:

  1. Supporting Educators and Staff: Advocate for teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to receive the professional support, training, and fair compensation they deserve. Strong schools start with supported educators.
  2. Improving Communication and Transparency: Strengthen the partnership between families, schools, and the district by improving communication and ensuring that community voices are heard and represented in decision-making.
  3. Enhancing Student Well-Being and Engagement: Expand programs that promote mental health, physical activity, and inclusive extracurricular opportunities—so every student feels connected, supported, and motivated to learn.

Name a couple of accomplishments in the past that show you can handle this position

Accomplishments that show I can handle this position:

  1. Experienced Educator and Professor: I’ve taught and mentored hundreds of students across courses in special education, physical education, sport management, and wellness at Keene State College and New England College along with working in public schools grades pre-K to 12. My daily work involves curriculum development, program assessment, and student-centered instruction—skills that directly translate to making thoughtful, data-informed decisions for our schools.
  2. Proven Leadership in Research and Program Development: I’ve led multiple research projects focusing on inclusion and student support, including studies on paraprofessional support in Adapted Physical Education and peer mentoring for autistic students. These projects reflect my dedication to equity, accessibility, and improving learning outcomes for all students.
  3. Community Involvement and Event Leadership: As race director for the Wildcat Ultra in Pensacola, Florida, I’ve organized large-scale athletic events involving hundreds of participants, volunteers, and community partners. This experience demonstrates my ability to manage budgets, logistics, and communication while fostering positive community engagement.
  4. Commitment to Service and Student Success: I have consistently gone above and beyond for students—attending open houses, mentoring preservice teachers in the field, and supporting academic success initiatives. My focus is always on helping students and educators thrive.

Share any other thoughts or ideas you would like voters to know about yourself

As both an educator and a parent, I believe deeply in the power of public education to transform lives and strengthen our community. My focus has always been on creating inclusive, supportive environments where every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success. I want to ensure Concord’s schools remain places where teachers are empowered to teach, families feel connected, and students are prepared not just for graduation—but for life.

I bring experience as a professor, researcher, and community leader who understands the challenges facing educators and families today. I also bring a collaborative mindset—someone who listens first, leads with integrity, and works hard to find solutions that benefit everyone.

Most importantly, I care deeply about this community. My children attend Concord schools, and I want to do my part to make sure they, and all students, have every opportunity to thrive in a safe, innovative, and inclusive learning environment.
