Arrest Made In Concord Teen's Shooting: Report

Concord police said a juvenile opened fire on an 18-year-old in a vehicle in Penacook in an attempted robbery.

CONCORD, NH -- An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting on a teenager in Penacook Saturday morning. The victim, an 18-year-old, was shot in a vehicle near the village square at about 1:30 a.m. in an attempted robbery, according to Concord Police Lt. Sean Ford. WMUR reported a juvenile was arrested later Saturday and charged with assault and robbery.

Ford said responded to Pinehurst Street for a report of shots fired early Saturday morning.

"Within moments of that call, officers were dispatched ... to the area of Penacook square for a report of an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, inside of a car," Ford said in a statement. "Both incidents are believed to be related."

The victim was transported to Concord Hospital with serious injuries. He was expected to survive.

"The investigation is active," Ford added. "Police do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time."
