Beloved Concord Mom ‘Is The Rock Of Our Family,’ Daughter Says

CONCORD, NH— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom is the most hardworking, generous, and big hearted person I know. My mom helped to raise her younger siblings and had to establish a life for herself. She has worked hard for everything she has. As a night nurse, she often sacrificed sleep to be there cheering her kids on at games and performances. She continues to sacrifice to provide for her family. My mom makes sure her children and grandchildren are cared for regularly. She even provides childcare for her three granddaughters! My mom is the rock of our family and our go to person in times of strife and uncertainty. When I was going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment, she came to every appointment and supported me with physical care, but even more importantly emotional care. She continues to be a sounding board for her family, providing guidance and support.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She has given of herself her entire life. She has consistently put others first. She took care of siblings, children, aging grandparents and now her grandchildren. She has often put her own happiness second to those she loves and cares for. She also gives of herself in her profession. As a labor and delivery nurse, she has worked nights, weekends, and holidays to care for others.
