Munnell Named To Hall Of Fame
Concord High School Wrestling Coach Head Coach Hamilton Munnell has been named to the New England Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Munnell was a high school wrestler in Weston, MA, in the 1980s, and was captain of both the team and Massachusetts State Wrestling Teams. He was a state champion in 1987, scoring several all-New England honors. Munnell went on to wrestl at Miami University where he was an NCAA Division 1 All-American.
Across almost 30 years, Munnell has coached the Crimson Tide, racking up nearly 500 wins, three state championships, and an undefeated season in 2007.
Most people will not be able to attend the induction in Rhode Island next month. So, in order to celebrate, his fellow coaches gathered former players of the CHS program to a surprise presentation to congratulate the coach on being inducted.
After the event, Munnell said he was completely surprised by the presentation and it was great to catch up with so many prior wrestlers.

Businesses Help Boosters
The event was also the biggest fundraiser for the wrestling team’s booster club.
The boosters had a goal of around $10,000 and while exact the amount raised due to entry fees and food items was not known at post time. But organizers said they believed they raised more than the goal.
Businesses assisting this year include Angelina’s Ristorante Italiano, The Barley House, Checkmate Pizza, Constantly Pizza, Concord Food Co-Op, The Forum Pub, New Hampshire Print & Mail, The Red Blazer, Starbucks, Smokeshow Barbeque, Tucker’s, The Weathervane Restaurant, and The Windmill Restaurant.
