Concord Announces Opioid Manufacturer Lawsuit
Concord officials announced today that the City of Concord will be suing multiple drug manufacturers for their role in the opioid epidemic.
CONCORD, NH – Concord officials announced today that the City of Concord will be suing multiple drug manufacturers and distributors in connection with their alleged role in fueling the nationwide opioid epidemic.
In a release, Concord officials said the lawsuit, field with Robbins, Geller, Rudman & Dowd, LLP focuses on the pharmaceutical companies that allegedly "engaged in fraudulent marketing and failure to report suspicious sales of prescription opioids so as to increase sales, leading to otherwise avoidable deaths."
Concord City Solicitor James Kennedy said The City of Concord is seeking to hold those responsible accountable, and to obtain monetary and injunctive relief stemming from the industry’s alleged false marketing and other misconduct.

"Public health officials have called the opioid epidemic the worst drug crisis in American history, leading to more than 200,000 deaths in the United States between 1999 and 2016 from overdoses directly related to prescription opioids," the release reads.
There were more than 480 overdose deaths in New Hampshire alone in 2017.
