Concord Armed Robbery: 2 Arrested; Drugs Eyed As Motive

Concord police said Nathaniel Gibbs and Elias Young assaulted an individual on Dunklee Street.

CONCORD, NH — Two men were arrested this week after assaulting and robbing an individual on Dunklee Street in Concord, according to police. Nathaniel Gibbs, 36 (at right), and Elias Young, 21 (at left), were taken into custody Tuesday morning and charged with felony-level armed robbery. Gibbs was also charged with felony second-degree assault and Young was found to have a warrant for assault out of Center Harbor.

Police Lt. Sean Ford said on Tuesday at about 4:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to Dunklee Street for a report of a disturbance "involving weapons and threats." The officers found Gibbs, Young and a third man in a truck and an injured male victim nearby, according to Ford. The victim was hospitalized, Ford said.

"The males were all acquainted and ... drugs may have been at the root of the incident," Ford said in a statement.

The third man, who was driving the truck, was questioned and released. Gibbs and Young were held in custody pending arraignments.
