CONCORD, NH — More than a dozen social service agencies, food pantries, and churches received food to feed the hungry on Tuesday.

The Capital Region Food Program delivered more than 238 cases of nonperishables as part of the program’s Year-Round Distribution Project for September. The items included canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, breakfast cereal, pasta, and soups. The food is distributed at no cost to participating partner agencies, according to the org.

The program delivers food to organizations serving Concord and 17 other communities in the capital region. Volunteers secure monetary donations by soliciting in-kind services from local businesses and the general public and collaborating with other community distribution and service agencies, the org said.
