CONCORD, NH — Concord’s Christmas tree lighting event is a go for Friday with the return of fireworks, too.

The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and will feature a balloon animal maker, wagon rides, cider, hot chocolate, and Santa. From 4 to 5 p.m., there will be a magic show. A DJ will also be playing music before the lighting. There will also be a children’s costume contest.

Donations will be accepted in a bucket or via Square at the lineup and the wagons. Organizers raised enough money for a short fireworks display but would like more donations to fund next year’s event.

Santa is expected to arrive at 6:30 p.m. and will illuminate the tree around 6:45 p.m. The fireworks will be set off around 7 p.m. near the Everett Arena. Organizers suggest viewing the fireworks from the Legislative Parking Garage or King’s Plaza.

Here are some highlights from last year.
