Concord Community College Expanding NHTI Lynx Food Cupboard
Funds from Bar Harbor Bank & Trust and the Junior Service League of Concord have afforded the cupboard a larger operating space.

CONCORD, NH — Concord Community College's NHTI Lynx Cupboard, a food pantry for students, will be relocating to a larger, more accessible space, thanks to local grants.
In a news release on Monday, NHTI announced a $1,500 grant from Bar Harbor Bank $ Trust and a $1,000 grant from the Junior Service League of Concord are helping fund the move.
The proposed move intends to expand storage and shelf space and add a refrigerator and freezer so the pantry can offer more balanced and nutritious meals, the release states.

“NHTI wants to provide a learning environment where all students can thrive and be at their academic best,” NHTI's director of alumni and development Laura Scott said in a statement. “This cannot happen if they are hungry or worried about where their next meal is coming from or how they are going to pay for groceries. Developing the workforce of tomorrow happens inside and outside of the classroom, and this project hopes to address this core aspect impacting student success.”
The release states Bar Harbor Bank & Trust prioritized supporting nonprofits during the coronavirus pandemic, and the Junior League focused on supporting women and children in crisis.
