CONCORD, NH — If you would like to find a nice spot for lunch in Concord, check out the picnic tables at Kiwanis Park on Loudon Road.
For several years, between the boat launch and the skateboard park, there was just one table. Now, thanks to Kiwanis, there are two more.
Ken Georgevits of Concord Kiwanis said the picnic tables had been in a storage unit for several decades. Despite their age, they remain in good physical shape.

“As you can see,” he said, “we are in a fantastic spot to have lunch. Hopefully, people will come down here and enjoy their lunch and hang out in the sunshine. Concord does not take advantage of places like this … even though they should.”
Georgevits reminded everyone using the tables that the area was carry-in and carry-out, meaning do not leave your trash or food in the park. Take it home. There are also signs on the tables reminding people to take home their garbage.

The city is in the process of considering a redesign of the park. Georgevits said for many years, Kiwanians used to care for the park before the city took over responsibility for it after retirees could no longer perform the mowing and cleanup. But, they still appreciate the park and space, and help out when they can.
