Concord Man Accused Of Gov. Sununu Threat Should Be Held: State

Police said Brian Roberts, of Concord, sent a message to the CIA threatening to shoot Gov. Chris Sununu and made anti-Semitic statements.

CONCORD, NH — Prosecutors on Tuesday argued a Concord man accused of threatening to shoot Gov. Chris Sununu should be held in custody. Brian Roberts, 38, was arrested last week and charged with criminal threatening. Authorities said he sent a message to the CIA through its website reading "Going to shoot Gov state of NH no matter what."

Roberts was also accused of making anti-Semitic statements and authorities were investigating if he violated the Civil Rights Act, according to New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald.

Roberts appeared in court Tuesday, according to WMUR. His lawyer said he is mentally ill and should be released on bond for treatment, while prosecutors said he should be held in custody, according to the news station.
