CONCORD, NH — The man found dead in the Contoocook River Sunday has been identified as a 45-year-old from Concord, authorities said. Christopher Audet was discovered by a passerby Sunday afternoon in the area of Island Shores Estates. "He was recovered in shallow water where he was (pronounced) deceased at the scene," New Hampshire State Police said in a statement Thursday. "The (circumstances) of Audet's entry into the water (are) still being investigated." Police said anyone who witnessed the event should contact them at 603-227 -2118.
