Concord Mom 'Gives So Much To The Kids In This Community'

CONCORD, NH— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks! Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours. This submission comes from Pamela Ewart who nominated Lori Grandmont of Concord.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Lori is a mother of 3 and now a grandmother of 4. Over the years Lori has always put her children’s needs above her own. She has been an excellent role model and a hard worker.

Lori works two jobs. Her full-time position as a paraprofessional at Merrimack Valley Middle School has given her the opportunity to impact so many kids' lives. She is a true advocate for them. My daughter used to tell me seeing Lori at school was the best part of her day. Lori will always do everything she can to make the kids laugh and feel safe and secure.

Her own children have thrived and grown into beautiful adults with young families of their own. Lori raised her children to understand that the memories they made and the time they spent together as a family was what mattered not material things. Her children always would say they never questioned that they could reach out to their mom with any issue, and she would offer them guidance and unconditional love. It’s a beautiful close-knit family Lori had created, and she deserves to be recognized for all she has done for her family and the other kids in the community

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

She gives so much to the kids in this community. She raised three amazing kids of her own and still finds time to advocate, support and love so many other kids that need it.
