Concord Police Investigating Death Of Woman At Homeless Campsite On Pembroke Water Works Property
Limited info is available about a woman found dead in a tent off Manchester Street on Thursday night; officers spend hours at the scene.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a woman who died on Thursday night in a homeless camp not far from the Pembroke line.
Around 9:30 p.m., police, fire, and rescue teams were sent to the area of 189 and 192 Manchester St. for a report of an unconscious woman inside a tent who was not breathing. A man and another person got to the tent and found the woman was not moving, according to scanner chatter.
Firefighters and EMTs staged while officers made sure the scene was safe. Pembroke police also arrived to assist.

There was some discussion about whether the scene would be in Pembroke or Concord. Later, it was determined to be in Concord. While the Pembroke Water Works owns the land, it is located in Concord. The campsite was about a seven-minute walk from Manchester Street, one officer said.
After the campsite was cleared, EMTs and firefighters were allowed to access the scene. They confirmed the woman was dead just past 10 p.m.

Police requested the evidence technician van and other officers to investigate the scene. One officer said more tents and lighting were needed.
An autopsy was performed Friday.
Deputy Chief Barrett Moulton said the case remained an open investigation and officers were still processing the scene. He confirmed they were there for several hours.
