Concord’s Stuff A Cruiser Event Collects 1,609 Pounds Of Food
Police and volunteers were at three supermarkets in September and collected varying amounts of food — as well as raising nearly $2K.
CONCORD, NH — The latest stuff a cruiser events, sponsored by the Concord Police Department and the New Hampshire Food Bank, collected nearly a ton of food across three days as well as close to $2,000 in donations, according to Deputy Chief John Thomas of the Concord Police Department.
At Market Basket on Fort Eddy Road, 600 pounds of food was collected on Sept. 12 as well as $1,033.79. The donations were given to The Friendly Kitchen.
About two weeks later, police and volunteers were at Shaw’s Supermarket on Fort Eddy Road. There, they collected 589 pounds of food as well as $295.02. The Salvation Army received those donations.

The next day, on Sept. 25, volunteers and police were at Hannaford on Fort Eddy Road, collecting food and donations for the Friends of Forgotten Children. About 420 pounds of food, as well as $532, were collected.
Thomas called the collections a great success helping those in need in the city.
