Concord Vape Shop Owner Assaulted Female Customer

The owner of NY Smoke and Vape in Concord was recently sentenced to therapy after being found guilty of assaulting a female customer.

CONCORD, N.H. - The owner of NY Smoke and Vape in Concord was recently sentenced to therapy after being found guilty of assaulting a female customer. According to the Concord Monitor, Virender Yadav, 62, of Salem, Mass., pleaded no contest and was found guilty in January of two misdemeanor counts of simple assault.

Late last month, the court amended Yadav’s sentence on the two simple assault convictions to incorporate the recommendations that resulted from that evaluation. Yadav faces a suspended six-month county jail sentence, which a judge could impose if he is not of good behavior and does not follow through with counseling. That sentence is suspended for two years. Yadav was also fined $620.

Concord police arrested Yadav on Sept. 6, the same day a woman reported that she was the victim of a sexual assault while shopping at NY Smoke and Vape, which is located in a small strip mall near Keach Park. She accused Yadav of repeatedly hugging her, groping her and trying to kiss her, police said.
