Sports run deep in Concord, and Concord High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Crimson Tide uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Concord High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.


1. Sam Knox — NFL Champion (Detroit Lions)

2. Tara Mounsey — Two-Time Olympic Medalist (Ice Hockey)

An iconic alumnus, Mounsey won an Olympic Gold Medal in the 1998 Olympics and a silver medal in the 2002 games with Team USA. (Source: Olympics.com)

3. Matt Bonner — Two-NBA Champion (San Antonio Spurs)

4. Kent Carlson — Former NHL Defenseman

Drafted in 1982 by the Montreal Canadians, Carlson was well known for his defensive reliability, playing over 100 games in the NHL for three different clubs (Canadians, Blues, Capitals). (HockeyDB.com)

5. Joseph ‘Joe’ Lefebvre — Former MLB Outfielder & Senior Advisor (Phillies, Giants)
