Decomposed Body Of A Man Found At Homeless Camp In The Woods At Concord’s Memorial Field

Concord police are investigating a dead body found in a homeless camp not far from softball and football fields on South Fruit Street.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police are investigating a dead body found in a homeless camp at Memorial Field in Concord on Monday night.

The body of a man, appearing to be badly decomposed, was found about 2,500 feet into the woods by members of a softball team who happen to be doctors and nurses. Members of the team noticed a horrible smell coming from the woods behind one of the dugouts. One of the team members, a nurse practitioner, said she believed it was a dead body, due to the smell coming from the woods. A second team member, a doctor, also believed the smell was due to a dead human body.

At the end of the game, just before 7:30 p.m., a few team members went into the woods to see if they could find the smell. After searching for a few minutes, they found the body.
