Dozens Of New Hampshire Wrestlers Are Heading To The New England Championship In RI
42 boys and 24 girls will compete at the meet in Providence, Rhode Island, after hundreds of bouts at Pinkerton Academy on Saturday.
DERRY, NH — Hundreds of New Hampshire’s best wrestlers battled in 437 bouts on Saturday for the opportunity to compete in the New England regional championship next weekend in Rhode Island.
Pinkerton Academy in Derry hosted Saturday’s Meet of Champions, featuring nearly 10 hours of wrestling on five mats. In the coed matches, 198 boys and girls competed for 42 slots to compete at the New England Wrestling Championship on March 8 and 9 at the Providence Career and Technical Academy in Providence, Rhode Island. Another 56 girls competed for 24 slots in the girls division.
According to the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Top 3 finishers for coed and the Top 2 for girls winners will move onto the next round.
