CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is seeking help from the public in locating a fugitive on a probation violation, with investigators posting a warning that the felon has “violent tendencies” and may possess “dangerous drugs.”

Robert Richard Ferris III is a 45-year-old white man, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs around 212 pounds. He has blue eyes and blonde-strawberry blonde hair, although he was last known to be bald. Ferris has several tattoos, including a skull on his right forearm, the name “Katelyn” on his right arm, the name “Ferris” on his left forearm, and marijuana leaves on his left shoulder, according to an alert.

Ferris was last known to be homeless in Rochester.

Ferris, according to an alert, was on parole after being convicted on possession with intent to sell fentanyl and methamphetamine charges. He has not reported to parole since Aug. 6. Two weeks later, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

“Ferris’ parole warrant also alleges new criminal conduct, to include domestic violence-criminal mischief,” the alert stated. “Ferris has previous convictions for conduct after an accident, criminal threatening, simple assault, DV simple assault, stalking, and resisting arrest.”

According to a superior court filing, Ferris was accused of acts prohibited, possession, and drug, cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine sale charges in October 2022 and March 2023 after incidents in Dover and Rochester. In August 2023, he pleaded guilty to two possession charges as well as the fentanyl and meth sale charges. Ferris received two two-to four-year sentences suspended for 10 years and three one-and-a-half-to-three-year sentences served consecutively with 164 days of time served credit and $3,100 in fines suspended for 10 years. He requested work release after four months. Following a state objection, as per a court filing, the request was denied in April 2024.

If you know where Ferris is or see someone who resembles him, do not attempt to apprehend him. Contact police or corrections at 603-271-1804.
