CONCORD, NH — Halloween’s Mega Millions jackpot is expected to be a harrowing $754 million, according to lottery officials.

No one has won the jackpot since late June when a player in Virginia won $348 million. At $754 million, it is expected to be the ninth-largest Mega Millions jackpot in history, according to Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery.

“This big jackpot is no trick — it’s actually quite the treat,” he said. “Don’t miss out on your opportunity to take home this life-changing treat this Halloween — one that’s even better than your favorite king-size candy bar.”

Big jackpots drive sales, he said, helping New Hampshire Lottery deliver maximum revenue to public education in the state. For the past 61 years, more than $3 billion in lottery funds have been used to educate children in the Granite State.

“So, before you take your kids out trick-or-treating, make sure to get yourself a treat of your own too — a Mega Millions ticket,” McIntyre said.
