Help Buy a Soldier a Bean Bag Chair
Patch has partnered with GoFundMe and is highlighting worthy campaigns in local communities.
A local resident is raising money to buy a bean bag chair – that's right, a bean bag chair – for her cousin who is serving his third deployment in Afghanistan.
Danielle LeColst of Bedford said her cousin Dennis Stringer posted on his Facebook page this week that he wanted a certain bean bag chair "so bad," according to the GoFundMe.com page. The chair costs $199 (plus shipping) on Overstock.com, so LeColst thought it would be great if she could send him one to show appreciation for her cousin's military service. Since Feb. 24, 6 people have already donated $165. The goal is $260.
From the page:
My cousin Dennis Stringer is on his 3rd deployment in Afghanistan. Today he posted on his Facebook page that he wanted this beanbag "so bad" from Overstock.com. It is only $199. I figured giving him one is the least we could do to show our appreciation. I put $260 just incase there is shipping (eventually), and to cover GOFundme Fees. If not, all money goes to Dennis! Please help out! Thank you so much :)
