Shaw's Supermarkets In Hampton, Hooksett Receive Bomb Threats: Update
New Hampshire State Police responded to the Hooksett location Wednesday and swept the store with a bomb detection dog but nothing was found.
HOOKSETT, NH — Hooksett police and fire were notified of a possible explosive device in the Shaw’s Supermarket on Hooksett Road Wednesday.
A man called Shaw's and indicated there was a live hand grenade in one of the aisles and then disconnected, according to Hooksett Police Lt. Valerie Lamy. Police responded and blocked off the immediate area around the store. Upon arrival, the store management had already evacuated employees and customers.
The New Hampshire State Police Bomb Squad was requested to respond and arrived with two EOD technicians and a bomb-detecting K-9.

State police, using the K-9, swept the store and did not locate any suspicious devices. The employees were allowed to return to the building, which was closed for about one hour during the incident.

According to Lamy, similar calls were received at several of Shaw’s locations in Hampton and stores in Massachusetts.
