SANDWICH, NH - New Hampshire State police have released the details of an investigation of human remains found in Sandwich.

State police say human remains were located in a heavily forested area of Sandwich Notch in the town of Sandwich. The New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the remains as Ronald Rauschnot, 56, of Ossipee, New Hampshire.

Mr. Rauschnot had been reported missing in May of 2020 when he was last seen by loved ones. The New Hampshire State Police, Troop E have been assisting the Ossipee Police Department with the missing person investigation since that time. The cause of death is pending. State police say foul play is not suspected.
