The single most important pressing issue facing the community is _______ and this is what I intend to do about it

I decided to run for office based upon the protracted history of regular property tax increases levied on Concord Residents. In speaking with so many Concord residents, it is beyond angering that many are/will be required to sell their homes upon retirement, due to the ever-increasing property taxes. Monitoring so many City Council meetings over the years, it is readily apparent that the Council approves needless spending constituting staggering dollar amounts to taxpayers. This has to stop - spending needs to be reined in. Two questions I would adamantly state for every spending item - 1) Is this spending absolutely necessary? 2) If deemed necessary, do we absolutely need this right now? Enough is enough!!

List three other things you would like to work on if elected or re-elected

  1. The additional common complaint I am hearing from Concord citizens is that City Government is completely out of touch with residents, while dedicated to those such as developers. There is seemingly a total lack of transparency, replete with an overwhelming sense of uncaring toward residents.
  2. The despicable homeless situation in Concord needs to be addressed immediately. Open drug use, blocking intersections, yelling at motorists, arsons, stabbings, and shootings are that of a black eye to the city. I see Concord as the quintessential small New England city - not Los Angeles. That said, I want to be clear — the financial burden of the homeless, funded by taxpayers, needs to end. There are many avenues available to effectively end this deplorable condition which is destroying the image of the City of Concord; however, the explanation is far too involved for this questionnaire
  3. The city welfare and assistance programs need to be intensely audited and updated. I am well aware of so many cases of fraud - taxpayers should not be strapped with the financial burden of such flagrant financial assistance.

Name a couple of accomplishments in the past that show you can handle this position

Successful small business owner, former U.S. Military Intelligence position as Korean Linguist.

Share any other thoughts or ideas you would like voters to know about yourself

I would like to openly thank Mr. Schinella from Patch, the Concord Monitor, and those City Hall employees who have made this such a pleasurable experience. I would also like to thank all of those city residents who have reached out to me, and those that I am hopeful will reach out. I am committed to serving the citizens of the City of Concord!
